Diary of a Sutton Councillor

Monday 15th September 11.30am

Carers Partnership Board Meeting

There were a lot of updates and feedback for this meeting. Lorraine Backshall provided some figures for public health data on Sutton carers which had been requested. A discussion followed about the need to obtain a breakdown of any health figures to show the true effect for Sutton. Generally the information obtained was broken down by the relevant health trust body, which can encompass two or more areas – for example Sutton & Merton PCT.

Lorraine also advised that the new contract for the Short Breaks Service had been awarded to Prospect.

Rebecca Hawkins and Laura Miller updated us on the new 7 day a week service, and Jane Stark talked about how the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme was being put into practice.

We received the usual updates from the Partnership Boards and the Community Engagement Network from Marilynne and Rachael, and I was pleased to hear of the progress that had been made by the sub-committee on the Gold Standard for Carers.
