Diary of a Sutton Councillor

Wandle Trail Walk

Reviewing the signage

On Saturday I joined with fellow Wandle Valley Regional Park trustees and other interested parties for a walk along the Wandle Trail.

On the way we were updated on the Living Wandle Partnership projects and thoughts about the Wandle Trail investment project.

The weather was perfect and it was a great opportunity to view for ourselves some of the work that was underway and get a better understanding of the projects.

A number of us had to leave the walk in Merton, but the rest valiantly continued on into Wandsworth.

This is about the third time I have done this stretch of the route, but I am determined that next time I will start at the Thames and make it back to Merton at least, so I will have covered the walk in full.

We were treated to an audience with a rare cormorant along the way, a great example of the hidden treasures the river can supply.
